Karen Fisher Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist UKCP Registered

My qualifications and background

About me. Karen Fisher

I completed the four-year training at the Bowlby Centre in London, where I am now a Member; and I am an Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist Registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I have offered psychotherapy in private practice in London and East Sussex.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I qualified as a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming with the International NLP Trainers Association (INLPTA). I also have a professional background in the arts: including running a community theatre venue, before working for many years as a theatre producer.

‘There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.’

I subscribe to the UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct. My work is grounded in anti-discriminatory practice - respecting and valuing differences in ethnicity, gender, sexuality and relationships, age, disability, religion, class, educational background and income.

I am committed to regular Continuing Professional Development as a means to reflect on and develop my practice.
